Gliding Vowels
"ay" for "I" is too confusing since this is most commonly used in words like hay. "ai" is better since it actually has an I in it, words are more easily recognizable and can be remembered by the phrase "ai as in thai to rhyme with thigh."

Quick trick. Remember "ow" as in "know" not "ow" as in "now".
